Hi Guys well it is a week after the event and wondered what people thought of this event? I have to say it was fantastic, loved the astronauts, they had great stories to tell and all had time to talk when getting autographs. Looking forward to next year and the rumour of the mini version in November.

Totally agree, this event was out of this world, very much looking forward to the follow up Mini Con in Nov.
Would like to see a venue in the city this time, or maybe readers of this may have other views. Northerncross __________________ Northerncross

Had a great time at the first Cosmic-Con and I am looking forward to the next one. Going forward I would like to see some improvements;
-Firstly I would like to have longer lectures from the astronauts, possibly up to an hour. Personally I thought 25 minutes was just too short although the Astronaut Panel was excellent & I hope it is continued. -I would also like to see a better quality of print from the photo-shoot and some sort of backdrop used. I thought the print was too small and it's quality didn't really match up to the price charged for it. As for a backdrop it doesn't have to be a fancy computer generated type but anything would be better then a bare wall. One of the best "photo with an astronaut" I have is from KSC and is in front of a NASA meatball sign. Simple but full of colour and right away people looking at the photo know it has something to do with space exploration. -I liked the venue but I agree with Northerncross about relocating to the city centre. You may also get some trade from people passing by on the day if you advertise it in the right way (now I have an image of Richard walking the streets of Manchester in his astronaut costume and carrying a 'Meet a real Astronaut today' placard!). -Finally, giving out the tickets on the day didn't work for everyone as some people didn't have all or the correct tickets in their envelopes, although any problems were very quickly dealt with. Have you thought about using an online e-ticket system? I don't want it to sound like I am being overcritical, because none of the above took away from what was a fantastic event, and I'm hoping Novembers will be just as good.
